Grovekin Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-23
Summary
Grovekin is an offline-first mobile puzzle game. Your progress lives on your device. The game can work without any account, and nothing in the game requires a login to play, buy, or restore purchases. Optional services use the network: app store purchases/restore, Firebase account sign-in, and Google rewarded test ads when you choose Watch test ad. The Google privacy service refreshes regional consent information at app launch; refreshing privacy information does not load an ad. The local development build includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK; this is not a claim that the currently uploaded TestFlight build includes it. There are no automatic launch, gameplay, failure or resume ads. Live advertising is not enabled.
Local Data Stored On Device
The game stores local data needed to run the game and preserve progress:
- Suspended Story/Inferno runs, highest levels and best scores.
- Reward receipts, one-revive-per-run state and daily optional-ad reward counts.
- Earned Coins and earned stage consumable counts.
- Loadout ownership and equipped choices.
- Mission progress, daily reward state, and claim state.
- Supporter cosmetic entitlement records from verified store purchases.
- Audio settings, quick mute, and tutorial state.
- Local production diagnostics breadcrumbs and last-known-good save backup data.
Your full save, board and gameplay diagnostics stay on your device. The optional production reward service described below uses limited reward information; it does not provide cloud save.
Purchases
Where available through the platform store, the Founder Supporter Pack is a permanent, restorable, non-consumable cosmetic/status product. Availability depends on the installed build and the store. It does not grant Coins, Chest Tickets, consumables, chests, random rewards, item progress, stage clears, or gameplay power.
Purchases and platform restore are processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. The game receives purchase state and a transaction identifier from the platform to unlock and restore the supporter cosmetics; it stores that entitlement record locally. The game does not see or store your payment details. Prices are set and displayed by the platform store.
Optional Account
Creating a Grovekin account is optional. You can play the full game, buy, and restore purchases without one.
If you choose to create an account, the game collects your email address and a password, processed by Google Firebase Authentication to create and sign in to the account. The build stores a session token on your device. The current build does not upload progress, purchases, or gameplay data to the account; the account exists to prepare optional cross-device features.
You can sign out at any time, and you can permanently delete the account from the in-game Account screen. Deleting the account does not affect progress on your device or purchases on your store account.
Diagnostics
The game may write local diagnostics breadcrumbs such as build version, device/runtime context, stage id, and recent gameplay state. These are local-only and help debug crashes or save issues. Grovekin does not upload its gameplay diagnostics or use a separate gameplay analytics SDK. The Google advertising SDK may send its own diagnostic and performance data when used; local-only game diagnostics do not imply that the advertising SDK has no network activity. There are no push notifications.
Data Sharing
Apple/Google process platform purchases and restore, Firebase processes optional account authentication, and Google processes optional test-ad requests. The game does not send your save, email or password as ad targeting data. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may process IP address (including approximate location), device identifiers, ad views/interactions, diagnostic and performance information. Exact disclosures must be checked against the installed SDK, enabled features and actual release configuration. Non-personalized ads still involve data processing. See Google's SDK data disclosure and Google Privacy Policy.
Reward Verification And Recovery
Production advertising remains disabled in current builds. When production rewards are enabled in a future approved build, choosing an ad will create a pending reward request with our Cloudflare-hosted service. This lets a completed reward be recovered after a connection loss or app restart without requiring another ad.
The service stores a hashed random installation identifier, reward request ID, platform, reward type, a run reference for revives, the ad-unit identifier, dates/times, verification state and Google's reward transaction identifier. It does not receive your full board, save file, account email or password. Google receives the hashed installation identifier and random request ID as verification context. Our service verifies Google's signed callback before granting a production reward; verification may take time. Reward records are deleted after 30 days by a daily cleanup, so removal can take up to one additional day. The random installation capability remains in the app's local storage and is sent over HTTPS only to our reward service; our database stores its hash.
Cloudflare processes network request information to provide hosting and security. We do not enable application request logging for the reward service. You can skip ads entirely. Contact us for help with an unrecovered reward or a privacy request; please never email passwords or local authentication data.
Children And Families
Grovekin is a cartoon puzzle battler. It is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. It is not presented as a child-directed or Families app. The G-rated ad request setting is a creative-content filter, not an age determination or a completed children's privacy design. Production advertising remains disabled until native consent acceptance and platform declarations match the release. If we learn that a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can address the request. A general-audience choice does not replace applicable age or consent requirements.
Player Choices
- Play entirely without an account; nothing is locked behind sign-in.
- Skip all optional ads and earn Coins and supplies through normal play. No ad is required to start or finish a run.
- Test ads award only the displayed benefit after the reward callback and a successful local save. Future production rewards additionally require server verification. Closing early or a load failure does not spend a reward.
- The local ad-enabled build refreshes Google's consent information at launch and presents a required privacy form when you choose an ad. Settings → Sound & support exposes Ad privacy choices when Google requires that option. Permission is checked again before loading and showing an ad. If a form cannot load, normal play remains available. These controls still need native iOS/Android acceptance before live ads are enabled.
- Sign out of or permanently delete an optional account from the Account screen.
- Restore purchases through the platform store at any time.
- Adjust sound settings locally. Save data is local to the device; deleting app data or uninstalling may remove progress unless the platform preserves local data.
